Can you put music on a Zune without using the Zune Marketplace?
I’m thinking about buying a Zune but i know if i like the fact that i’ll be permanently tied into the Zune Network. If i decide the price is too high to keep a Zune Pass, then is there any way to get music on my device? I know you can’t use Media Player or Napster, but can you do ANYTHING with it if you don’t want to use the Zune Marketplace?

You need to use the Zune Software to sync things to your Zune, but you do not have to use the Marketplace (the music store). If you rip your own CD’s, buy music without DRM (like from Amazon’s music store) you will be able able sync these to your Zune no problem.
