Question by Rob: How can I convert a video FROM Zune TO iTunes?
I do not own, nor wish to purchase another Zune player as I have an iPhone 4. However I have videos from my old player, as well as, purchased video that I would like to transfer to my iPhone. Everywhere I look it tells me how to do the opposite. I need help.

1. Free download latest version ‘DVD to Zune + Zune Video Converter‘, and install it.

I have recently got an ipod classic in addition to my zune. I purchased episodes of the office from zune marketplace and just want to know if there is a way to convert those to view on my ipod? Any ideas?

Before getting started, let’s take a look at the audio and video formats Microsoft Zune recognizes:
Audio Support

Video Support

After the DVD’s, videos or YouTube/Google videos are imported, you can preview it on the main interface. If you only want a clip of the DVD/video, you can drag the Start to trim and Stop to trim button to get the certain segment.
After making sure you have chosen the right profile from the Profile drop-down list, now you can click the Start Encode button to starting ripping DVD movies or TV shows, converting videos or downloading and converting online YouTube/Google videos for your Zune.
4. Convert iTunes M4P music to Zune
The music downloaded from iTunes Store is under DRM protection. In order to play it on your Zune, you need to strip the DRM off and have the iTunes protected AAC (M4P) music converted to Zune WMA or MP3 format. The easiest way is to burn the iTunes M4P playlist to CD-R or CD-RW disc to make an audio CD and then use some CD ripper software to convert the audio CD track back to MP3. And iTunes allows you to burn the protected music files to CD-R or CD-RW disc to make a standard audio CD:
A. Insert a CD-R or CD-RW disc into your CD-ROM drive. You’d better use CD-RW disc as it can be used for more than once.
B. Create a new playlist in iTunes. Add the protected songs to your playlist until you have 72 minutes of music. Click the Burn Disc button, in the pop-up window of Burn Settings, tick Audio CD from the Disc Format checkboxes. Note: You cannot select the MP3 CD option since it requires the protected music files be converted to unprotected MP3 or WMA files.
C. After the audio CD is successfully burned, insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive again. Then you can use iTunes or Windows Media Player to import the music tracks on the burned disc to MP3 or WMA files.

Since the Zune Marketplace dosen’t offer movie download service, Zune holders who are not satisfied with the spare Zune Marketplace or want to watch movie in full length have to turn to iTunes, Amazon Unbox, or the normal DVD disk for feed.

The Zune Marketplace is an online music, video and podcast store that integrates with Zune software and Xbox 360. the songs(offered in DRM-restricted WMA format) downloaded from the Zune Marketplace are protected by DRM license similar to iTunes, meaning that songs purchased from Zune Marktplae could not be playable in iPod or on other Apple Device.

How to convert DVD to Zune, MPEG to Zune, DivX to Zune?

Step1. Free download the latest Zune Video Converter Suite, install and launch.

To ‘Output Folder’, Enter the full pathname or choose the path where you want to save your video files by clicking ‘Output folder’. The default output format is WMV, which natively supported by Zune. You can also hit “Setting -> Output settings”, select other output formats you like (MP4, H.264, WMV7/8/9, MP3, WMA, etc.)
Step5. The converter will automaticly detect the main movie of your DVDs, it will popup with below window to let you make a decision, just keep the setting of “Record from movie start point” and output file size setting, the default setting is the best for good quality and compact output file size, click “Yes” to start ripping DVD to Zune video files.
Tips: You can also just record any part of movie by drag the slide bar to where you want to start, and click the “Convert” button, please select “Record from current time point”. This provide you with more flexibility.
Step6. Find the .wmv or .mp4 file that DVD to Zune converter created and add it into your Zune software library.
